Here's the problem - Ready Made Meals

It sometimes feels like forever since I started to learn how to cook and it has changed my life for the better ever since. My two favourite meals are fajitas and spaghetti bolognese and when I began to learn how to cook I promised myself I would not stop until I could make them. Times have changed and now I can cook and bake and I use nearly everything in my kitchen. It is a great stress reliever and I see it as a form of art. When I started to learn to cook, I primarily used recipes that people gave me. For new meals that I wanted to explore myself I would use the BBC food website. This website contains thousands of recipes done by professional chefs, however they think you have around 4 hours to prepare your meal. No one has this kind of time and I would certainly not use it on a daily activity like dinner. This does not mean you just suddenly give up and resort to ready made meals in the microwave. I sifted through all the advice and I found my own style of cooking. It is a long r

Here's the problem - Reality

I believe we have two people in our heads: the conscious, which acts like a manager, and the subconscious, which acts like a worker. The conscious cannot make a decision without making the subconscious actually implement it. This allows the conscious to see things at a much higher level and so is better equipped to deal with abstract ideas. I also believe the things that make up who we are such as our morality and our spirituality reside in the subconscious although we can only question these beliefs with the help of our conscious. The abstract idea of reality and dreams seems to only concern the conscious. It is also something that the subconscious cannot understand so it will inevitably disregard the idea. The subconscious is very powerful force. It is rash, fast and very confident in its actions. The conscious understands that it could be wrong and takes its time in coming to a conclusion. Animals seem to have a fully developed subconscious but lack a powerful consciousness. For me,

Here's the problem - Driving

Driving is hands down the most dangerous thing I do on a daily basis. It requires concentration, experience and a good reaction time but even then accidents can happen. Every time I get on the road is a unique experience. I sometimes lose faith in humanity by the randomness and seemingly chaotic nature of others driving but no one is perfect. I believe that every specific situation requires a specific action. It seems like to only way to know the right action is by trying and seeing the result. Your first experience with braking on ice will usually end you up in the ditch but you will learn your lesson. To pass my driving test I followed the rules of the road to the letter but once I had my license, a whole new style of driving appeared. It might have happened because I become lazy or I picked up bad habits. However, I believe it happened because I realized that following the rules of the road does not matter if you get into a crash and die. The rules of the road are not more important

Here's the problem - Religious Fanatics

If you take it from an evolutionary point of view, those who had religion survived and reproduced. It seems to give us something to fall back on when our own morality fails us. It also brings the whole community together and helps build a shared morality that everyone agrees on. Every religion uses itself as a foundation for morality, although over the years religions have changed and the morality has become obscured and outdated. I consider myself a loose Irish Catholic. I believe that we should take everything from religion and decide ourselves whether that morality makes sense. We should not allow religion to take our identities and our freedoms. We should not have to take the whole package of one religion. We should be able to accept parts of all religions and dismiss the out dated parts. Its nice to have objects that show our belief of morality, an object which we can hold on to or feel when our morals are being pushed. However these objects should not be forced upon us. Catholici

Here's the problem - Fancy Wine Drinkers

We are now living in a world completely linked together. The internet and other such things has given us a vast amount of globalisation. As consumers we have a vast amount of choice and selection at our disposable. If you put the time and effort into a purchase to learn about the market then you are almost guaranteed the best deal for your money whether it be in an online shop or a shop just down the road. This means that the best companies will be giving you the best value for the quality of product. This does not mean that the most expensive product has the best quality because there are still companies out there who are trying to screw the customer up. These sneaky companies come and go and so do their products but if you try and understand why, then you will have the best chance of getting the best product. And yet some people out there still spend ridiculous amounts of money on fancy wine, iphones and mercedes-benz. These products do excel in some areas and attributes but the cost

Here's the problem - Happy People

I really hope that I do not have any anger problems. I think it is more like anger solutions. There are some people out there that are constantly and truly happy. These people do not like to start arguments and would gladly help you out whenever they can. These people really piss me off. If they want to start a new utopia then go ahead, and just like the nazis, they will fail. I believe the only way you will get someone's true opinion on a matter is to get them angry. Anger gives us an excuse and a mask to show our true selves. If vicious arguments didn't solve things then they would not exist. It can be very frustrating when one person opens themselves up to another and they respond with no opinion and resolve. You will probably notice that there is two types of happy people: the first is that of people who are happy doing little nothings all day and the second is the happiness you get from reaching a resolution with someone through an argument. The first comes and goes, I wou

Here's the problem - Vegetarians

Before I begin, I would just like to say that I appreciate the diversity that we can create within society. I also respect revolutionists who go against the norm and love to question everything, for example vegetarians. This, however, means that I will judge you almost immediately for your decisions to see how strong willed and opinionated you are. Now onto the juicy stuff. Seems to me that these vegetarians think that by not eating meat, then no one will kill any animals for them. This is true of course but at what cost? If we were all vegetarians then no one would want to farm animals. Farmers would then have to farm something that people want. Just think of all the cows and pigs that will never be born and never graze and have a happy long life. This is clearly a supply and demand situation. Consumers want to eat the energy-rich delicious meat of animals, farmers are happy to raise and sell these beautiful animals and animal rights activists are happy at the way they are treated. Ca

Tutorial - How To Build Your Own Computer

This brief tutorial should allow users to understand what is inside a computer and hopefully give them enough confidence to create their own desktop from basic components. Komplett sometimes allow you to build your own desktop online and allow users to select the specific components they want in their desktop. If this is available, I would highly recommend using it. I am only going to go through how to build the desktop from components. This will not include what monitors to buy or any other accessories. These accessories generally have a common interface so it really doesn't matter what you choose as most will work. I will leave this up to the discretion of the user. Here are some of the components that I would consider vital for a personal computer: Motherboard Case Processor Memory Graphics card DVD player Hard drive Power supply Operating system Where To Buy? There are several places online which offer great offers for computer components. These include videocardshop.co.uk, kom
